Preview a template section before you use it

A new Preview button in the template editor opens a full-screen, scratch-pad version of a section or subsection, so you can try filling it out without starting an inspection.

Until now, the only way to find out whether a template felt right was to start an inspection and fill it out. That works, but it leaves you with a test inspection to clean up afterwards.

Every section and subsection in the template editor now has a Preview button. It opens a full-screen version of the form you'd see in the field.

  • Try it for real. Fill in answers, and conditional fields appear and disappear as they would on an inspection. Findings pop up under the field that triggers them.
  • Sees your latest edits. The preview reads the template as you're editing it, so there's no need to wait for an autosave before checking a change.
  • Step through a section. Previewing a section lets you jump between its subsections, or use Previous and Next, as you would in the field.
  • Nothing is saved. Answers live only in the preview. Close it and they're gone, and Reset answers wipes them without closing.

Photo fields show a placeholder rather than an uploader, since there's no inspection to attach photos to.

That's it. No test inspection to delete afterwards.
